ECM X: Stem Cells for
Musculoskeletal Regeneration.
June 29th-July 2nd, 2009. Congress Centre, Davos, Switzerland
Hopes have been high,
ever since stem cells were first discovered that clinical treatment
for a wide range of injuries using stem cell therapy would become
available. Though stem cell research has moved on, where are we
with regards to available clinical treatments and are all the pros
and cons being considered. Understanding the mechanisms that control
cell proliferation, differentiation and integration is essential
to achieve clinical treatment methods. This meeting will firstly
give introductions to the stem cell area and then will move onto
where we are with stem cell research and how far we have to go to
get to safe clinical treatments.
This international forum continues the ECM congress
series held in Davos.
The limited number of participants (150) brings together clinicians,
biologists, engineers and material scientists to share knowledge
in basic, translational and clinical research and developments in
the field of stem cells
for Musculoskeletal Regeneration. The
single session permits in depth multi-disciplinary set of discussions
where everyone is welcome to discuss to move this research forwards.
