Robert Mathys Student Awards

A student award was established in the 1^st eCM Meeting in order to give young scientists recognition of their scientific performance, which could be documented in their curriculum vitae, and to encourage them to continue their research career. These awards have been gratefully sponsored for the meetings by the RMS Foundation. For eCM XIII award, types judged will be for students (Under 30 years of age) for the best presentations (whether oral or poster).

We advise all presenters to look at the TIPS FOR TALKS (295 kB) presentation and read these guidelines (39kB) before starting to prepare their talks. This will help for all presenters, especially if one is interested in a chance of an awards.

Robert Mathys Stiftung sponsors the awards, which consist each of a certificate (which can be documented on the curriculum vitae) and a cash prize.

Please inform conference secretariat, before June 1st, 2012, if you are a student to be considered.

Rules

To qualify for the Student award the candidate must under 30 years age, a registered student at a University (Letter from Dept. head required) at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Not included as students are : If you already carry a Dr. degree and are studying for a second Dr. title or if you are now studying for an MBA after completion of a first degree). The student must be the first-listed and presenting author. For posters they must be present at the official poster presentation time. The submission must clearly be the work of the applicant and not that of any co-author.

Independent reviewers will assess presentations of all the eligible candidates and independently judge their performance. Evaluation criteria will include quality and presentation of the research in the abstract; the contribution of the presented work to the field; the clarity and ability to present the research in an informative manner; the appropriate use of visual aids; the ability to interact with the audience during the discussion period including the presenter’s knowledge of the research field and the presenter's actual involvement in the entire project.
Awards may be won for poster or oral presentation.
