Scope of the Meeting
The SSB meetings are devoted to all aspects of biomaterials
such as designing, preparation, characterisation, quality
control and application. Emphasis is not only placed on
the basic research but also on engineering. The meetings
are open to all who have interest in scientific, technology
and medical aspects of biomaterials and are primarily intended
for graduate students, scientists, medical doctors, dentists
and engineers involved in metal, ceramic, polymer or other
biomaterials.
2006 Theme: In 2006 we oriented the meeting theme
towards all aspects of absorbables, degradables, and resorbables.
This included synthesis, characterization, in vitro
and in vivo properties.
Swiss Society for Biomaterials (SSB)
The SSB is the assembly of people in Switzerland working
or interested in the field of biomaterials, be it on the
industrial or the university level. Our Charter and Bylaws
describe the goals of our Society. We welcome everybody
interested in the wide field of biomaterials to participate
in our meetings and to join our Society. The SSB is officially
affiliated with the European Society for Biomaterials.
